CAMPUS DIS-CONNECT !!!!

muhahahahaaaa !!!

as the title suggests, my campus job opportunities can be made into a blockbuster movie
( starring ME, of course ;) ) .. even shakespeare would've been proud of the twisty plot of the saga..
where to begin.. ok here goes.................

part 1, scene 1 : Status Quo
7th sem, this cool guy named sudhar, with high hopes, dreams and ambitions went to meet the placement apisar ( henceforth he shall be called as pongalsamy or koodhi). at this point of time thru bad-luck or bad-correction, he and a coupla other guys had a single paper backlog ( decent name for arrear!) mr.pongal told them not to worry, he will do his best, speak to company hr's.... blah blah blah and a whole lotta other shit !

part 1, scene 2 : Utopia
glad tat the pongal is backing them, they happily went and started preparing.. but nothing materialized. company after company came and went, came again, went again.. no chance of job in site ! again we approached mr.pongal .he told them tat company hr's were adamant.. he couldnt do anything.. his hand were tied .. ( it was a blatant lie !! )

part 2 : the awakening !
Now, it came to our notice, tat other colleges as part of the same process were allowing students with 2 and even 3 arrears to attend and get placed !! very angry by this fact, we approached koodhi.. he scolded many of us, and told us tat for our marks we didn't deserve anything, and tat college reputation will b at stake. we were resigned to our fate and deeply saddened and left the place!
(anecdote: as it so happened, 4 ppl were of my college were caught in answer paper scam, the prinicpal appeared on live tv and had to meet chancellor of university... subsequently a few months later, our AICTE approval was cancelled and a riot took place in college campus.. labs were trashed, college was closed down.. SO the whole "college reputation" argument of Pongal goes right out of the window)

part 3 : He who Must Not Be Named a.k.a Pongalsamy !
the rest of the 8th semester continued in this manner. we hated tat bastard from the bottom of our souls. thought no less talented or % wise than our friends, we were jobless and had to face lot of pressure from home & elsewhere. we had already started to look at off-campus opportunities. then results came. college days got over ! to show our anger we created communties of hatred against tat pongalsamy ( which is progressing well!).. i must point out tat in this whole saga, out I.T department were least helpful, doing their bit in tormenting us.. giving us less internal marks, levying fines and so on..

part 4 : PAYDIRT !
as if to say what pongalsamy did to us was wrong, we were proved right!
remember tat gang of ppl who went and spoke to him.. well, it so happens tat.
1 of them got a job in Siemens, 1 in Alcatel , 1 in Mahindra-BT ( maybe Microsoft in the pipeline).. and this after just a month on the job market.! 3 more are sure to get placed in the coming month ( my best wishes to them..). well, notice that all r MNC's. in hindsight, am glad we did not get placed in campus. i know; this sounds ironic, but tatz the naked truth !!!!!!

Grand Finale :
well, i leave u to judge what happened to urselves.. the guy didn't even care a nickel for our careers ! there was a lot more that Mr.Pongalsamy said.. too much to type.. some extracts include :-
1. unakellam edhuku s/w job = why s/w job for you ?
( he said this to a core I.T guy with above 70% aggregate!)
2. U.S la poi nee enna pannuvey. perukuviya ? = what will u do in U.S. sweeper job?
3. BPO is best for you. for u thatz more than enough !
4. ICICI bank is there for ppl with arrears like you ( he said dis in a derogatory manner!)

End of an Era - Goodbye Zizou !

The World Cup is over ! obviously i'm disappointed , 1st the english go out, thanks to referee horacio elizondo... then the French. i felt the WC deserved a draw btwn france n italy..

Then suddenly, Wham ! non-one on this planet could've predicted wat would happen next..
Zidane was wrong in head-butting Materazzi.. we forgive u. But Fuck the SOB Materazzi. such a foul-mouthed, idiotic, buffoon.. he spoilt the Wc finals..
It it were me, i would've have kicked materazzi in his balls !

well, anywayz its all over now. the Azzuri have won.. though the sheen seems to be off the winners, as they r embroiled in bribery sham back home..
The French played brilliantly, defeating Spain, Brazil( yahoo!), portugal - all favourites... they've finally put the ghost of 2002 behind them. VIVA LA FRANCE !!

S.A.F please buy Andrea Pirlo from ACM.. we need a holding midfielder..
It was fun watching the world cup. intense moments of joy,ecstacy,passion. sorrow.. this is wat makes football such a beautiful game..

After a long time, i got to watch Espn & star-sports on tv.. it was great.. i was watching each & every match , even South korea vs togo.. believe me ,i was nuts abt futbal !

well after this, i had my microsoft interview in bangalore, which thankfully didn't turn out to be a dissapointment.. i got thru written test, and had 2 interviews.. after which there was a telephonic round... fingers crossed, & waiting for the results !
odd thing was, the WC finals topic did come up in my hr interview.. and the hr person also turned out to be les blues fan ;) .
now am back again to the chennai heat. wastin time on orkut and back to downloadin moviez..
i'd end this post by saying this, and repeat after me guyz..

I feel tat same way abt life right now.. just had 1 exam today. phew ! as usual filled papyrus after papyrus of Arabian nights and gave it off . God bless the indian education system...
Nowadays i'm getting very much drawn n sucked into the Open Source world. for those illiterates out there, am talking abt Gnu/Linux ! RMS is my guru ( Richard Matthew Stallman - hez the man ) ..... moi gonna start digging into the vast mysterious depths of linuz world , and hopefully emerge a linux Geek && a hack ! :)

Life right now couldn't be more boring.. jobless, aimless,nothin to do. just lazing around.. man am telling you. it sucks !! u know sometimes u get that feeling , that the world around u is moving fast and u're stuck in a hole...
who knows, in my current state of desperation i might even give Allsec a go.. i'd give anything right now to go away somewhere far from here (and this heat !) . i can literally hear Aerosmith in my ears tellin me to 'Fly away from here ' ..
and these fucking Set top boxes are killing me.. Fifa 2006 is just round the block and GOD ! am not gonna b able to watch it ! Stab me to death instead , rather than missing de samba beat... oh, i can literally hear the chants ...

a week to go from exams, and not even have my book yet.. itz gone out in circulation 4 xerox ?and so as usual i got a reason to put off studying . No data mined so far. as usual i'll re-define last minute study ; make for a world-record late entry into exam hall ( personally i'm aiming for 10.45 entry ) . if i put so as much an effort in exams as in writing this blog, i'd hav gone places.. well that's me anywayz .
Spanish Gp got over ystrdy and bitch alonso got away with a win.. the renault's have managed to put up a fast winnable car. Ferrari - perk up guys ! Schumi = God will be back next race at monte carlo !
Am concerned for Rooney right now. the lad has gotta be fit if england has any chance of winning the world cup . i can't stand another brazilian victory even though they play amazing football. Ronaldinho gaucho - hats off to you.
