It’s not Linux or a Mac but Windows which has reached millions of people around the world and touched the masses ( whether in pirated form or anything else ). And the credit goes to the innovative mindset and some exceptional marketing and management skills of Bill Gates. If not for you, computers would have been still obscure and technology wouldn’t have been as easy as it seems today.
Think of the awesome power that is sitting in front of you ! And then you will think of the Man ! He is not far from us, anytime you are near a PC, remeber the name, remeember BillG.

So thank you, Bill Gates. Thanks for Windows and Word, PowerPoint and Excel, even Internet Explorer. Thank you for SQL Server (yippee) and Thanks for filling my Citibank Salaried account month after month :) .Generations to come will remember you as the man who changed the face of the Computer Industry and for making it accessible to the common man (Aam admi!).
Bill Gates, you are a true legend and we’ll miss you. Thank you for being a pioneer in making computers a commodity than a fetish !!
To Mr.Gates - May the Force be with you !

What better way to end this thread, than to leave you with this Iconic Photo taken in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1978.

Great post!
Bill Gates has indeed provided roots to the computer industry and indirectly our daily lives.
He's not just high on the marketing and management quotient, but is equally skillful in the technological domain. In a recent interview, one of Microsoft's executives said that despite the huge variety of Microsoft products, Bill Gates had in-depth technological knowledge about the working of each of those products.
How many Tech CEOs and Chairmen would make it a point to do that?
+1 to Citibank transfers :)
